Offering Analytical Model to Prevent Crime (burglary) from Residential Buildings with Respect to Crime Prevention Approach through Designing (Case Study: Zone 1, Qazvin Municipality)

Security is one of the most important needs of human being, so that in Maslow needs’ classification ranks the second behind physiologic needs. Researchers are of the opinion that numerous factors such as social, economic and cultural factors, contribute to establishment of security, chief among them is the role and impact of environment. One of the crime preventive strategies is «crime prevention through environment designing» which was introduced, for the first time, by American criminologist C Ray Jeffrey in book called the same. The present research aims at introducing crime prevention approach through designing environment, and offering analytical model of indices impacting prevention from crime (theft) in residential buildings. For this purpose, zone one of Qazvin which is located in old structure of the city with high population density and being located in improper urban network, and has had high rate of theft from houses. The research methodology is used in this article based on the objective is of applied type, and in terms of nature is of descriptive-analytical type. Information gathering took place in two stages. The background and theoretical framework of the research was introduced through using library and documented information and as well as analytical model in the first stage. In the second stage, the fourfold under study fields were assessed through using the criteria achieved from the first stage. AHP technique was used for evaluation and prioritization of indices in the analytical model. Results indicated that “Dabaghan” Neighborhood is the safest area in the under study zone. Among the surveyed principles and indices, “Territory categorization” and “natural surveillance” have respectively had the highest weight of in preventing theft in houses.
