Identification and Ranking of Barriers to Cultural Information Management in the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance

The contemporary era has been called the information age and information explosion, which is associated with turbulent and complex environments. The complexity of inter-organizational and extra-organizational environments has increased the need for information and consequently, information systems. The purpose of the research is to identify and rank barriers to cultural information management at the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. This is an applied and descriptive research that is used survey method for gathering data. The statistical sample is consisted of 30 experts in the field of cultural management and information management, especially in the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance that are chosen by purposive sampling method. The research instrument was a researcher-made questionnaire. Its validity was confirmed by using the content validity method and with the opinion of the supervisors and consultants and several authoritative writers in the field of information management and cultural management after the implementation of limited modifications. To measure the reliability of the instrument, the questionnaire after the distribution of the test was measured through Cronbach's alpha, which was 0.91. In order to analyze inferential, several methods such as single sample T test and Friedman test were used. The results of Friedman test showed that there is a significant difference between the rankings of barriers of cultural information management. On the other hand, "weakness in content management" with an average of 8.46, was the most important obstacle to the management of cultural information in the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance from the viewpoint of respondents.
