Study of Oleoreupien extract's effects on prostate and vesicular glands tissue in Streptozotocin induced diabetic rats

Diabetes cause malfunction in genital system such as disorder in spermatogenesis , decrease of sperm , serum testosterone , and seminal fluid amount . In this study , 30 male wistar rats divided into three groups of 10. First group was control , the second was diabetic and the third one was treatment .Treatment group became diabetic by using streptososin , and recieved oleoreupien for 28 dasys with dosage of 500mg per day by using gavage. In the end of testing period ,animals disected and samples of prostate and vesicular glands were obtained and propered for histological studies . Results and Morphological studies show increase in secration , diameter of secretory units ,thickness of muscular layer and dacrease in interstitial connective tissue in prostate and vesicular glands in treatment group in contrast with diabetic group. Changes of epithelium from columnar and cuboidal to spindle , were less than diabetic group. Histomorhology results show meaningful increase in epithelium's height and prostate tubules diameter also increase in muscular layer thickness and vesicular glands epithelium's height in treatment group in contrast by diabetic group.(P<0.05) Also it's revealed that in treatment group in contrast by diabetic group ,meaningful increase in ratio of weight of glands to body weight is clear.(P<0.05) In this study revealed that Oleoreupien's extract in diabetic male rats, decrease the rate of tissue disorders in prostate and vesicular glands.
