The Application and Evaluation of 'Relative Deprivation Theory in Iran's Islamic Revolution

This paper tries to study the principal reasons of revolution and social –political instability in Iran during the final years of Pahlavi. Ted Robert Gur's Relative-Deprivation Theory (RDT) in the theoretical framework of the paper has been selected, evaluated and assessed. The main question of this paper is if the Relative-Deprivation Theory (RDT) is able to analyze the evolution of the Islamic Revolution; if it is able the explanation of or non-compliance with what is its reason? After applying this theory in Iran's Islamic Revolution depending on the analytic-descriptive method based on the common indications , it is expressed the main reasons for this dis harmony of the mentioned theory with Iran's Islamic Revolution. With the analysis of Ted Robert Gur's Relative-Deprivation Theory (RDT) with the collection of the revolutionary components of Iran community, it shows that this theoretical approach with the special outlook can only evaluate and analyze some parts of the revolution in the social area. Collectively, the paper findings have not proved the theoretical view of Ted Robert Gur's revolution in Iran and relative-deprivation in Islamic –social evolutions in present Iran; it does not mean that the social evolutions of Iran have no agreement with the theory but some parts of the revolutionary evolutions in the discrimination area and social inequality are in concord with this theory and some others for their quiddity and the content of Iran's Islamic Revolution are falsifiability and they have been formed and created according to its quiddity , culture and society.
