Abstract:
The current study, using Skinner’s contextual hermeneutics method, is intended to investigate some of the explicit and implicit aspects of Motahari’s political thought around the two components of government and freedom. By placing the text within practical and ideological contexts, along with the remarks, the present research also pays attention to the untold intentions of the author. The findings of the study show that Motahari’s political thought on the government and freedom issue has two different stages: In the first stage, his attitude to government within the framework of the nominated governance seeks to advance the theory of installation under new conditions. Nevertheless, a series of objective and subjective developments inevitably lead him to enter into the freedom issues. The same discussion is a bridge harmonizing Mottahari’s theory of government with freedom as the most fundamental of modern political discourse, and finally his view approaches the theory of choice on the eve of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
