The evaluation of educational quality of pediatrics group (Jahrom Medical school)

One of the main factors that can promote education from a static to a dynamic and effective states is evaluation. Also, evaluation of the qualities of  program provides a feedback on how the educational process is performed in various stage .In addition, evaluation is the most effective means for improving the quality of education, and determines weak and strong  points of education process.

This study has been designed as an internal evaluation project by cooperation of pediatrics group and education and development center of Jahrom Medical School. In this study, several components of educational system are evaluated through objective based model including  specific objectives, management of educational planning trainees (extern & intern students), faculty members, educational facilities and equipments, and teaching and learning processes.  The data were obtained by three questionnaire desirable, checklist, observation and interview with medical student, pediatrics faculty members, and also pediatrics ward personnel .The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the conditions of the head of the group and their  educational equipment were fairly desirable .  As to educational process ,learning and degree of attainment of go al regarding clinical period , the result proved to be rather desirable to desirable . 63% of clinical students were satisfied with educational process in the pediatrics ward, and 50% regard teaching in the out patient department center as good also 66% of  the students stated that morning reports were desirable and faculty member had good educational round. The indicators of the academic staff’s research such as the number of articles research projects, or translation proved to be fairly desirable in 1383 and desirable in publication of 1985  . Bared on the results of this study , pediatrics ward is in a good to moderate situation. to improve it new programs are required to be planned in order to remove the weak point and promote the strong points
