Evaluation of land degradation hazard of Bahadoran playa of Yazd province by Remote Sensing and GIS techniques
Soil degradation is a global problem that human playing essential role in the creasing trend of it by disturbing of the .environment. The emergence of soil degradation indicators and instability of basic resources of agriculture in Bahdoran study area of Yazd province, indicate desertification in the region and a serious threat to the life of this area. For this purpose, in the present study using the equations developed by FAO, UNEP, based on the factors of climate and soil with applying remote sensing and GIS techniques, the risk of soil degradation evaluated and the damage map of this risk was prepared. According to the obtained results 39. 5 % of study area showed low hazard of chemical destruction and but with too high risks of, physical destruction, 18. 1 % with low risk of chemical degradation and with moderate risk of physical destruction, 17. 3 % with too much risk of chemical degradation and moderate risk of physical destruction, 12. 8% with medium risk of chemical and physical destruction, 7.6% with too much destruction of chemical and physical destruction and 4.7% with medium risk of chemical destruction and with high physical destruction. Among these factors, the human factor with mismanagement caused severe chemical damage and increased the risk of desertification in the study area. Therefore, it is suggested with explain and education of crisis to farmers we could prevent from a severe crisis of desertification in this region.
