Abstract:

ASTER Managing Organization produces three types of product; standard products, semi-standard products and special products. Standard ASTER products, produced without user demand include Level 1 and Level 2 data. This organization generates ASTER Level 2 data, including surface temperature data and surface emission data, for thermal processing, and provides them to users. AST_05 is the product of surface emission data with 90 m2 resolution that is produced only for the infrared thermal band (TIR) of ASTER sensor. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) in the five thermal bands of this sensor was performed using AST_05 data. Eigen vectors obtained from Principal Component Analysis processing for enhancing the mineralogy and lithological units of the Firouzabad salt domes, Fars (Konarsiah & Jahani) showed that most of the eigen vectors loadings were in the third, fourth and fifth components. The results were compared with geological map, field observations and the accuracy of processing was evaluated.
