A combined study of economic factors affecting crime in Iranian society

The study of the reasons for the occurrence of criminal behaviors to reduce crime is mandatory. One of the most important considerations in examining the environmental conditions of crime is the economic factor. Since the economic factor is an important factor for all social structures and has a significant impact on crime, there are also numerous investigations at national and provincial level, but there is no comprehensive overview of these investigations. It seeks to identify the most important economic factors affecting crime in research conducted in Iran. Using meta-analysis method, the present study has analyzed and combined the results of researches conducted in Iran in the field of economic factors affecting crime. The statistical population of this research is an article about economic and crime factors in Iranian society which has been published in prestigious journals from 2001 until the end of 1977. The prerequisite for selecting articles is also to address the impact of economic factors on crime. Finally, 25 articles related to the subject were selected and analyzed from reputable journals. Findings and The results of the effect size showed that the most influential factors on the variables of stealing are income inequality, unemployment rate and inflation respectively. Also, the most influential factors on the total crime variable were the variables of income inequality, unemployment rate and poverty rate, respectively. The most influential factors on the homicide variable are unemployment, industrialization, and poverty rates, respectively
