Globalization and its Challenges for Islamic Republic of Iran’s Foreign Policy
Globalization and its Challenges for Islamic Republic of Iran’s Foreign Policy Abstract: Whether globalization is a historic and spontaneous necessity, or a planned and imposed project, it is a reality the world has faced and all societies have the opportunity to play in this field. There is also a great deal of opportunity and danger in this arena. Any society that has the ability to use its existing tools and potential capabilities within its national borders, and knows how to use them in relation to other countries and consistent with the requirements of the 21st century, it has the ability to succeed in this arena. Like any other government, the Islamic Republic of Iran cannot survive without regard to the international (regional and global) environment. Globalization is a process that has brought enormous changes to the global environment. By using the descriptive-analytic methodology, this paper does not seek to address all aspects of the globalization consequences for Iran. In other words, since globalization creates a modern and dynamic environment for economy, culture, and politics, it is not possible to examine its consequences for Iran in this paper. Therefore, the main question of paper is: What should the Islamic Republic of Iran do in a globalized world?
