Application of Nursing Researches Results in Clinics (Evidence-Based Clinical Cares)
Evidence-based cares is a bridge between scientific researches results and their applications in caregiving area as an evidence-based care and play an important role in improving the nursing care quality due to up-to-date nursing care processes and cost-effectiveness for patients. This research aimed to investigate the level of nursing researches references in practice.
This article is a review which is conducted based on library studies and search via internet databases of Google Scholar, PubMed, SID and Magiran over the years 2008 to 2018 by EvidenceBased, Nursing Researches, Clinical Care keywords.
Based on results of studies, using and referring the clinical nurses to evidence-based cares is very low and only 6 nurses (46%) considered their clinical actions based on the results evidence of the researches. Barriers to implementation of evidence-based care from nurses views were i) lack of necessary facilities to apply the research findings (65.3%), ii) lack of sufficient time to implement new believed (64.7%), iii) dissatisfaction from applying the nursing theories (73.4), iv) lack of sufficient time to read researches and articles (62.4%) and, v) lack of organizational culture and lack of nursing managers’ support for applying the research findings in clinics.
Base on the evidence-based nursing care, the nurse can make suitable clinical decisions. However, it is difficult to implement evidence-based nursing care but using strategy such as retraining courses and, by managers’ support, equipping the hospitals’ libraries with valid research articles and availability of internet, one can transfer the nursing research findings to clinics.
