Investigation the Effect of non-invasive stimulating methods of the elimination of urinary retention after the surgery
Acute urinary retention is an acute emergency situation characterized by sudden inability to pass urine, along with the lower abdominal pain that causes damage to the urinary system. This usually occurs after surgeries for a variety of reasons. The incidence of urinary retention after surgery has been reported to be in a range of 4–29%. Given the high prevalence of this complication, in this study we’ve reviewed the stimulating methods of the urinary retention relieve that are safe ones.
This article is a review study using library resources and national and international scientific databases such as Science direct, Pub Med, Med escape and CINHAL between the years 1993 and 2015.
Our observations showed that simulating methods such as warming, auditory, the use of some ointments, etc, can be effective in the elimination and relieving of urinary retention and its resulted complications after the surgery.
Urinary retention is a common complication after surgery by performing a series of non-invasive stimulation methods can be resolved in the field of nursing care and to reduce the damage and its complications.
