Organizational identification as a tool for control in organizations
The aim of this article is to introduce the theoretical basics of organizational identification as one of important issues which has attracted the attention of organizational researchers, and to investigate the possibility of its usage by managers to improve the performance of employees and to control their behavior. For this purpose, the identification indices including commitment to the organization, organization appreciation, and sense of satisfaction and feeling of security in organization have been introduced. Besides introducing the four-dimension model of organizational identification, the effects of identification on fulfillment of needs and personal performance are investigated. Finally, as a conclusion the use of identification as a new tool to control individuals' behavior in organizations is discussed.
