The Effect of Knowledge Management on Employee Empowerment
Today, we are living in a knowledge economy. Organizations are not concerned with machining as they used to be, but they focus lay the stress on smartness, perception of skills, and employees’ knowledge and experience. Undoubtedly, emphasizing knowledge has had impressive results; emergence of such terms as knowledge-based capital, knowledge employees, knowledge market, etc. bears witness to this important phenomenon. In the current conditions, considering the staff’s experience and taking an attitudinal view of it is considered to be a turning-point in the organizational changes and individual performance, and thus causes emergence of a viewpoint based on development of “organizational knowledge management” – a new management means particularly welcomed by contemporary organizations. Of course, this inner tendency is caused by the results subsequent to its implementation, i.e. empowerment of human capital. Based on this, this article, in addition to introducing knowledge management and employee empowerment, provides a model that aims to describe employee empowerment as a result of the knowledge management process and how knowledge management affects employee empowerment and everlasting development of the human resources.
