Measuring Personality Characteristicsof Managers and Its Relationship with Their Occupational Performance, Vivacity and Motivation
This study was carried out to, firstly, measure degree of three important personality characteristic, namely, extroversion, self-confidence, and power motivation (domination) in NAJA managers and officers; and secondly, investigate their relationships with individual features (such as age, record and rank) on the one hand, and occupational performance, on the other hand. To this end, from among middle- and high-ranking managers and officers in NAJA, a 644-member group was selected; and their characteristics were measured by means of a standard personality index along with motivation, occupational performance and vivacity indices. Results suggest reveal that from among the three personality characteristic possessed by the officers, self-confidence is up to par and above. Moreover, an analysis of the relationships indicated that all three characteristics in question were significantly related to the occupational performance, motivation and vivacity.
