Situational Prevention of Intra-Organizational Crimes
This article is meant to identify effective methods of preventing crimes in NAJA on a situational basis and to measure level of success in each case. Research methodology comprises description and field research; and the sample population consists of 85 experts and specialists serving in NAJA. In this study, five preventive methods introduced by Clarke, including 25 techniques, have been examined. Results suggest that from among 25 methods (techniques) of situational prevention, "extending guardianship" (with the mean 4.53) and "hardening crime targets" (with the mean 4.420 had the highest means of significance; and "strengthening formal surveillance" (with the mean 3.76) and "extending guardianship" (with the mean 3.56) had the highest means of performance. In contrast, "assisting natural surveillance" (with the mean 3.96), "concealing crime targets" (with the mean 3.78), and "deflecting offenders from crime targets" (with the mean 3.56) gained lowest means of significance; and "damaging or preventing benefits" (with the mean 2.71) and "deflecting offenders from crime targets" (with the mean 2.71) gained the lowest means of performance.
