Television narration and culture: Semiotic analysis of dominant values in the Paitakht's TV series
The television as an instrument of representation plays an important role in promoting and reproducing of the doctrines prevailing discourse. The TV Images are not attractive and entertaining objects or transporter of information and awareness, but also have cultural significations and values. The present study by studying the television series of Paytakht 5 is following the deconstruction of represented behavioral patterns and values. In general, this study seeks to show how cultural values and behavioral patterns have been represented in this television series and how was their representation mechanism. This research uses a qualitative approach and semiotic method to decode the cultural themes and significations. The findings show that this TV series has constructed cultural values and significations in the form of patriarchal capitalism ideology to mediate a set of symbols, actions, situations, dialogues, and behavioral patterns. This ideology, by representing multiple social brigades and constructing some duality such as woman/man, worker/employer, labor/employer, legislation/unlegislation, tact/incompetence, tamed women/rebellious tried to represent itself as innocent being and makes its relations natural.
