Abstract:
Background

Literature has always focused on ethics as a fundamental aspect of social life. Moral thoughts ‎are one of those issues which have been intensively discussed ‎in classic literature. Meanwhile Ferdowsi's ‎Shahnameh is not only a unique literary work ‎that has special impacts on the readers, but also it has ‎touched upon a series of moral and ‎human problems. It has used epic literature as a tool for expanding the ‎doctrines of ethics and has put together a series of ethical and human issues in the layers of fiction. It can ‎be a paradigm for the reader to teach him the way of life and lead ‎him towards the prosperity. The current ‎study aimed at expressing the ethical issues in Shahnameh and by expressing these contents, finding the ‎logical interaction between Shahnameh and ethics. ‎

Conclusion

Important ethical issues in Shahnameh can be divided into three groups: health of thoughts (troubleshooting, dishonesty, prohibition of the Soul, cruelty, goodness, world-worship), health of ‎behavior (justice, pardon and neglect, avoidance of excess, tenderness), and health of speech (truthfulness, ‎pride and arrogance, patience). ‎
