The Effectiveness of Cognitive-Behavioral Group Therapy on Self-Esteem of Female Students of Payame Nuremelard University
Self-esteem is one of the most important bases for the formation of human personality. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of life review therapy with emphasis on the principles of Islamic ontology on the rate of self - esteem in undergraduate female students.
The methodology was based on a quasi-experimental research design including two groups of pretest and posttest and the population comprised the undergraduate female students of Payame Noor Open University (Malard Branch). Thirty six students selected through convenient sampling were randomly assigned into the two experimental and control groups with equal numbers. The Beck Self - esteem Inventory (1967) was used to measure students’ self - esteem. The experimental group received six sessions of training patterns of life review therapy with emphasis on the principles of Islamic ontology (Esmaili, 2010). The collected data was analyzed with ANOVA using SPSS software version 22.
