Abstract:
Introduction

Despite the achievements of the study of obsessive-compulsive disorder, the diagnosis of cognitive flexibility and obsession in anxiety patients remains challenging. While this is certainly true of depression, recognizing these can help to eliminate such cognitive features and subsequently the underlying mechanisms for informing how to evaluate and treat them.

Methods

This study was performed by correlation and Shapiro-Wilk test with survey of anxiety patients in Imam Ali hospital in Zahedan during April to July of 2010. Sample of 45 patients with anxiety and data gathering tool are Val and Denis (2010) Cognitive Flexibility Questionnaire and Hodgson & Rachman Obsessive Compulsive Questionnaire (1980).

Results

Findings showed that those with higher OCD scores experienced greater paternal flexibility and ultimately more anxiety. And the correlation between cognitive flexibility and obsession is 0.041.

Conclusion

The results showed that patients with higher levels of anxiety had higher scores on obsessive-compulsive disorder.
