How to Develop the Border Cities in the Horizon of 2025 Perspective (A Case Study of Gilan Province)

Abstract:

Development is a multidimensional concept that has vast economical, social, and cultural dimensions; in this regard the necessity of providing some plans which are required to move the country towards development, especially the border cities’ development, has always been felt. The latest plan is the perspective document of political, economical, social, and cultural development of Iran. This study aims at investigating the process of border cities’ development in the horizon of 2025 perspective. This study is applied in nature and it has been conducted in analytic-descriptive method and the data collection and theoretical bases were done through library method. The results of this study indicate that in order to achieve the border-coastal development there is a need to take the cultural development, i.e., the knowledge based thought promotion, into consideration rather than social and economic approach. And in this regard, the role of education, broadcasting, newspapers, and cooperation of Islamic Culture and Guidance bureaus and the universities of border-coastal cities are necessary.
