Modeling the Effect of Emotional Labor on the Turnover Intention of Sport Coaches (The Mediating Role of Coach’s Burnout)

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the Role of emotional Labor Strategies on the Turnover intention of sport coaches with the mediation of the burnout. The statistical population of the study consisted of all active sports coaches in East Azarbaijan province and 301 of them were selected purposefully. The Brotheridge and Lee (2002) and Diefendorff et al (2005) questionnaires, were used to collect emotional Labor information and Researcher made questionnaire was used for coach burnout. The Meyer et al (1993) questionnaire were used to assess coaches' intention to quit. Also, the validity and reliability of the questionnaire were confirmed. The results showed that surface acting has a significant positive effect on the coaches Burnout and has indirect effect on the coach’s turnover intention. Deep acting also had a negative and direct impact on Burnout and indirect effect on the coach’s turnover intention. However, the genuine expression had no direct or indirect effect on burnout and turnover intention.
