Social exchange of organization and innovative work behavior: focused on mediating role of work engagement (Studied Case: Iran National Steel Industrial Group)
This study focuses on the mediating role of work engagement on relationship between social exchange of organization and innovative work behavior. Following the previous studies in the literature, leader-member exchange and perceived organizational support are considered as social exchange between organization and members. Statistical sample includes 310 staff members of Iran National Steel Industrial Group (NSIG) selected using a simple random sampling method. Standard questionnaires have been used for gathering the information from respondents. According to Cronbach Alpha calculation in SPSS environment, the reliability of questionnaires seems to be quite reliable and the validity of questionnaires has been confirmed by face and content validity approaches. The research hypotheses have been investigated by structural equation modeling (SEM) in Smart-PLS environment. The findings show that leader-member exchange and perceived organizational support positively and significantly influence on the innovative work behavior, leader-member exchange and perceived organizational support positively and significantly influence on work engagement, and work engagement positively and significantly influences on innovative work behavior. Furthermore, the study indicates incomplete mediating role of work engagement on the relationship between organization social exchange and innovative work behavior.
