Effect of Exercise Type After High Fat Diet (HFD) on Gene Expression of Retinoid X Receptor Alpha (RXRα) in Hepatocytes of Male Wistar Rats
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of 12 weeks high-intensity interval training (HIT) and low-intensity continuous training (LIT) on RXRα gene expression in male wistar rats after a high fat-diet.
Subjects after 13 weeks high-fat diet were divided into three groups: control, HIT training and LIT training. Then experimental groups performed exercise training for 12 weeks. After training, RXRα gene expression was analyzed.
the results indicated RXRα gene expression in the HIT group was higher than the LIT group and also in the LIT group was higher than the control group. All of the observed differences were significant (P≤0/05).
in total, 12 weeks HIT and LIT after 13 weeks high-fat diet may be effective in increment of RXRα gene expression that is an effective non-pharmacological strategy for atherogenic effects of obesity and overweight.
