Abstract:

Prophet David's moral traits are one of the topics discussed in religion and ethics. The Quranic verses are studied and compared with those of the Two Testaments regarding the prophet.  There are at least nine moral attributes about Prophet David mentioned in the Quran. On the contrary, about sixteen moral traits have been mentioned in the Old Testament. There are commonalities in both scriptures about Prophet David, peace be upon him. The moral attributes mentioned in the Holy Qur'an are generally coherent using general terms. As for the Old Testament, they are specific and contradictory. The fair and just judgment of Prophet David (s), his bravery in fighting the enemies, kindness and benevolence, and supplication to God are the common traits mentioned by both the Quran and the Testaments. The author, however, endeavors in this study to examine the moral traits and qualities of Prophet David based on the Quran and the Two Testaments. The author has presented his studies under six titles throughout the article.
