Higher Education’s role exploration in technological catch-up for defense industries section

Abstract:

One of the preconditions for establishing knowledge enterprise economy in the developing countries is technological catch-up whose aim is to reduce technology gap in the developing countries. The significant part of the existing challenges and the requirements along the way of technological catch-up and national goals ascertainment will be achieved through the higher education system of country. Along this way, in the present study higher education’s role in technological catch-up for defensive industries of the country will be explored and explained. Considering the goal, the present study is explorative and the approach is qualitative. Data have been obtained through interviews with academic and defensive industries experts, by content analysis method and via MAXQDA software. These findings display four major factors including: “technological Learning”, “knowledge base”, “innovation network and systems” , “human resource” have been underscored as significant aspects of higher education in technological catch-up succession for defensive section industries.
