Women Of Papi Tribe Indigenous Knowledge In Hide Livestock Manufacturing As Dairy Products Process Device And Storage

The objective of present study was to document indigenous knowledge of making water skin and other handmade of hide livestocks that were used for processing and storage dairy products. The research conducted in villages and nomad women from Madhani tribe of Papi confederacy in Kakasharaf region of Khorramabad county, Lorestan province. The research method was ethnography with applying semi structured interviews and participatory observation. The results showed that villager and nomad women made two types of musk one of them, “mashk-e Du” for processing yoghurt and storage Doogh, and another one “Mashk-e Aow” for carrying and storage drinking water. In addition, local women make “Hiza” for storage ghee and “Kervel” for storage butter from ruminant coats. These handicrafts are symbol of the nomads and rural communities which come out of rich gender traditional knowledge. No synthetic nor chemical materials were used during the making process of these storages. The products were stored or processed in them seeded to be healthy and homemade which the user demands increase for them.
