Investigating the Expectations and Satisfaction of Professors with Research Activities at Amin Police University
In order to produce and disseminate police knowledge and empower specialized researchers to meet the needs of the organization and promote the university's scientific status in national and international arenas, the deputy of research at Amin Police University is doing a variety of activities. One of the beneficiaries of these activities was the professors of Amin Police University, and the purpose of this study was to examine their expectations and measure their satisfaction with the research activity of the university.
This study used qualitative mixed method (content analysis of interviews) and quantitative (survey). The statistical population was, in the qualitative section, the structured interview with 8 professors related to the subject and, in the quantitative section, the completion of the researcher-made questionnaire by 126 professors of Amin Police University who were selected by targeted sampling method from various academic groups. In order to measure the validity of the instrument in the quantitative section, first the face validity of the questionnaire was done by interviewing the qualified experts in the qualitative part of the research and using the strategic research document and part of the standard SERVQUAL Quality of Service questionnaire was used. The reliability, using Cronbach's alpha, for research services was 0.931, for research achievements was 0.853, for research performance was 0.931, and for service quality was 0.969.
The professors' expectation from the university's deputy of research in the four areas of the study were 35 demands, and in the satisfaction section, 66% of the professors answering the questionnaire were very satisfied with the research executive affairs, 60% with the research services and 55.6% with the research achievements. Overall, the satisfaction of 57.7 percent of the professors with the quality of services of the Deputy of Research was high and the average response in this variable was 2.64 out of 4.
Most of the professors' expectations of the university's deputy of research were in line with increasing the academic credibility of the university and its professors, and this shows the connection between the interests of the individual and the organization. The results also showed that respectful behavior with stakeholders, especially educated people such as professors, plays a very important role in their satisfaction.
