Satisfaction and Pilgrimage(Case Study: Iranian Pilgrims’ Participation in Arbaeen Walk in Iraq, 2019)
Considering the material, spiritual, and cultural opportunities that Arbaeen walk in Iraq provides, the forthcoming research is in line with the development of religious tourism to examine the satisfaction of Iranian pilgrims in the host community. To achieve the objectives of the study, two methods of documentary and field research were used. The research was carried out using a qualitative method of descriptive cognitive phenomenology and the data were collected by observation and semi-structured interviews.The sample size included 27 Iranian pilgrims selected by targeted and accessible sampling. The findings revealed that the pilgrims’ satisfaction was low in the dimension of spatial (environmental) infrastructure, while the level of their satisfaction in cultural, social, and religious dimensions was at a desirable level. Also, some of the basic needs of the pilgrims were to increasing transportation fleet, serious monitoring of fares, increasing infrastructures of telecommunications, providing cooling and health facilities, providing proper accommodation, widening and eliminating technical problems of roads to reduce road accidents, and establishing more cultural centers to reply religious questions and spiritual suspicions.
