Effective Components and Indicators in the Development of Self-management in Students

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to identify and introduce factors and factors affecting the development of self - management in sixth grade elementary schools in Shiraz. The present study carried out with a mixed method in two phases: qualitative and quantitative phases. The qualitative section was carried out using content analysis method and quantitative section by descriptive - survey method. The participants in the qualitative part, experts and researchers in the fields of management and learning, were selected in a purposive sampling method, and with the data saturation criterion. The data collection instrument was interview in the qualitative section. The statistical population in the quantitative section consisted of all middle - grade students of Shiraz, which were selected cluster random sampling. Findings were designed in four components: family, educational environment, planning and social skills. Each of these elements has implications that affect self - management development finally, evaluation of self - management status among students was not appropriate. However, in the case of middle - grade students in Shiraz, self - management model fits well with the present situation.
