The role of personality traits and irrational beliefs in predicting Gender Dysphoria
The present study aimed to identify the role of personality traits and irrational beliefs in the incidence of Gender Dysphoria. For this purpose, 100 individuals with Gender Dysphoria who were selected by available sampling method completed a short form of neo-personality characteristics scale and irrational beliefs questionnaire. Data were analyzed by regression analysis. The results of the analysis on the prediction of Gender Dysphoria based on personality traits showed that extroversion and neuroticism predict a total of 50 percent of variance of Gender Dysphoria And The variables of irrational beliefs show that the most important factor of the sum of the variables of irrational beliefs, high expectations of self, the need for others to confirm, the tendency to blame and helplessness to change, which predict a total of 48% of the variance of Gender Dysphoria.According to research findings, the role of personality traits and irrational beliefs in the incidence of sexual Gender Dysphoria.
