Investigating the high levels of management authority and supervisory power on the relationship between management capabilities and financial performance of companies

Abstract:

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the role of high levels of management authority and supervisory power on the relationship between management capabilities and financial performance of listed companies in Tehran Stock Exchange during 2014-2017.In this regard financial performance as a dependent variable and capabilities Management as an independent variable. High levels of management authority and supervisory power are also moderating variables. Company size, year-to-date return on assets, financial leverage, cash flow changes, firm sales changes, book value to market value, board size, board independence, and managerial ownership are also considered as control variables. The research sample is 112 companies. The research method is descriptive-correlation with applied approach. The method of data collection is in the theoretical part of the library method and in the hypothesis testing part is the method of documentary analysis of financial statements. In general, the hypothesis testing method is multiple correlation and regression. The results showed that there is a direct and significant relationship between management abilities and financial performance of the company and high levels of management authority and supervisory power reinforce this relationship. In the statistics section, EVIEWS11 software has been used for data analysis. Results of control variables showed that there was a significant inverse relationship between financial leverage, book value to market value ratio and financial performance, and there was a direct and significant relationship between firm size, firm sales changes, board independence and managerial ownership with financial performance. Has it.Also, no significant relationship was found between the rate of return on assets of the previous year, changes in company cash and board size with financial performance.
