"Travel" and its goals and customs in the eyes of Sufis From the first century to the ninth century
Travel is a long-standing tradition in Sufi thought. Looking at the background of this tradition in Islamic sources, we find that the Sufis had specific goals and functions for their travels, based on which their travels can be categorized and defined. In this article, by examining the main sources of Sufism from the first to the ninth century, we have extracted these goals and functions in both external and internal parts, and we have studied the etiquettes, stories and anecdotes that have been narrated in Sufi books appropriate to each of these types. Is. The results of this study show that during these nine centuries the travels of Sofia have not been the same in terms of quantity, quality, goals and functions. We tried to introduce the traveling Sufis in each century and their goals, and to mention the special events of these journeys that the Sufis have referred to. Our method in this research has been the library method and according to the research findings, it can be said that the journey of the horizon is of secondary importance compared to the journey of the soul and the main purpose of the journey of the horizon has been to know and cultivate the soul or garlic in it.
