Investigating the parameters affecting the relationship between the meaning of space, crime and security of contemporary urban space based on pattern language theory and CPTED (Case Study: Tehran Area one)
In Tehran's District One, quantitativeism and modernist principles have led to phenomena such as a lack of sense of environmental belonging and disregard for urban space, which is a factor in the formation of crime in the urban environment. The present study seeks to find the mental parameters of the people of District One of Tehran by considering the public mental images and examining the maps of the urban geographic information system, which can explain the living patterns for this area by relying on these images and analyzing them. The main purpose of this research is to find parameters in order to strengthen the meaning and security of urban space based on pattern language theory, which has been done with field studies and the signs obtained through the use of survey research method, information gathering by mapping method, society. Sample statistics by stratified random sampling in proportion to volume, sample size of 324 people in 27 neighborhoods using two-to-two AHP comparison technique and spatial arrangement analysis in data analysis, these patterns are appropriate to the method described by Christopher Alexander and CPTED theorists for region one. The obtained patterns are specific to region one of Tehran and through the method used in this study, these patterns can be used for other urban areas in Iran as well.
