Investigation of Psychometric Properties of Frederick’s Questionnaire of Academic Enthusiasm in High School Students
The present study aims to investigate psychometric properties of Frederick’s questionnaire of academic enthusiasm in second-grade high school students. The research method is descriptive correlational. The statistical population of this study consists of male and female high school students in Kohgiluyeh and Boyerahmad province, including the tenth, eleventh and pre-university grades in the academic year of 2017-2018. A sample of 1200 students is selected using a multi-stage cluster sampling method, who completed academic enthusiasm questionnaire. To analyze the data, descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviations of variables, tables, t and z tests), confirmatory factor analysis and conventional methods of testing, validity, reliability and soft tables are used. The results of Cronbach's alpha coefficient, two halves and parallel forms show that the whole scale and subscales have a good reliability and also the scale has acceptable internal consistency. The results of confirmatory factor analysis also show that the structure of the questionnaire has an acceptable fit with the data and all the goodness of fit indicators have confirmed the model. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Persian version of the Frederick Academic Enthusiasm Questionnaire has satisfactory psychometric properties in Iranian society, and can be used in various educational and research situations.
