Women’s Happiness from the View of Quran with an Emphasis on Ayatollah Javadi Amoli’s Idea
The indicator of women’s happiness is an extremely important subject to which ethical works have paid attention. Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, in his interpretive works, has taken into account this issue that with what criterion people’s happiness can be evaluated and whether gender, ethnicity, race, and nationality can be considered as a criterion of happiness. This study aimed to investigate and analyze the women’s happiness and the ways to reach it from the view of Quran and Ayatollah Javadi Amoli’s perspective by a library research method. From Ayatollah Javadi Amoli’s view, theoretically and practically, the truth of happiness is the existential perfection of soul and the growth of reason that it results in approaching God. Therefore, he emphasizes the accordance of the perfection with happiness, and regarding the criterion of happiness, he believes that based on the Quranic verses and quoted narratives, having right beliefs and doing good things are the only criteria of happiness; thus, gender, ethnicity, race, and other factors never have a role in this issue. According to this divine sage and great interpreter, the path of the perfection and happiness is equally provided for both women and men. From his view, the following are the solutions and factors of playing a role in this ground: family-centeredness, faith-centeredness, the study of science, justice, attention to spirituality and self-purification, the freedom of thought, doing things based on Sharia, and employment in home affairs.
