The Content Analysis of the Book “Heaven’s Gifts” (Elementary Fifth Grade) from the Perspective of Moral Educational Components
Ethics is one of the great needs of human societies. Educational system plays an important role in moral education at the ages of childhood and after that and helps grow students’ personality, attitude, and awareness. This study aimed to analyze the book “Heaven’s Gifts” (elementary fifth grade) from the view of presenting moral teachings and suggest a proper curriculum in order that it can provide all necessary needs for moral education. This study applied a descriptive-analytical method. The book “Heaven’s Gifts” (elementary fifth grade, in the academic year 2017-2018) were reviewed and obtained 8 main and 28 sub-main components, as well as the frequency and relative percentage of each of them. Analyzing the book from the perspective of moral educational components showed that the most frequency belongs to the component of thinking with 56 cases. In this book, the least frequency is related to the components of honesty and order and there is no case for the component of discipline. The content of this book focuses never or less on some moral educational components. In other words, although moral education is one of the most significant factors of developing societies, this book does not equally cover moral educational components.
