Abstract:

Preserving and maintaining traditional and valuable textures in the tourist attraction villages has a close relationship with conveying the existing values in a sustainable way to the next generation and also with development of tourism. In the tourism development plans, making use of beautiful nature, traditional architecture styles, and local products play important roles in entrepreneurship and economic activity of villagers. This survey has been conducted with the objective of analyzing maintenance of traditional textures and its role in physical development of two villages of Zyarat and Shahkooh Sofla in the districts of Gorgan central region (Estarabad Jonoubi Township Center). Statistical population of the survey includes 927 families and by the use of Cochrane’s formula, 271 families were selected as the sample size. Data was collected through researcher-made questionnaire. Validity of the questionnaire was approved by professors and experts and its reliability was achieved %85 by Cronbach’s alpha. Results achieved from this survey show that there is no significant relationship between preserving and maintenance of traditional textures in the studied villages and physical development because of the rise in the rental prices of housing, commercial centers, and productive centers; and no effective steps have been taken for preserving, maintenance and revival of traditional textures and as a result, physical development of villages in a fundamental way. Also, there is a significant relationship between preserving and maintenance of traditional textures and development of tourism, economic growth, and improvement of social factors, so much so that villagers, government departments, tourists, and the related organizations play important roles in preserving and determining limits of valuable and traditional textures as well as economic, social and cultural development in the tourist attraction villages. Preserving these valuable textures requires an orderly process of planning, decision-making, and execution, and it leads to physical development development of tourism.
