The Relationship between Religious Orientation and Mental Health among Students of Kermanshah
Spiritual health is one of the most important aspects of health. One of the factors related to spiritual health is religious orientation which can lead to spiritual and spiritual health. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between religious orientation and mental health among high school students in Kermanshah.
This study was a descriptive-correlational study, which was conducted with the participation of 360 high school female students in Kermanshah in 2019. Samples were selected by multistage random sampling. Data were collected using GHQ and religious attitudes questionnaires. Data were analyzed using SPSS 20 software. Significance level was considered 0.05 for all analyzes.
The results showed that students' mental health was at a moderate level and among the components of mental health, anxiety was high in students. Religious orientation was favorable in students and religious orientation was inversely and significantly correlated with mental health disorders and its components.
Considering the significant relationship between religious orientation with mental health and its components in students, it is advisable for the planners and officials of the Ministry of Education, school counselors and educators in their educational planning for students, Have a greater emphasis on the role of religious beliefs in mental health.
