The critical discourse analysis of "Identity" based on Norman Fairclough in Hayy ibn Yaqdhan monograph, Robinson Crusoe novel and Jazire-ye- sargardani novel

The critical discourse analysis tries to analyze discourse beyond sentence to manifest both social and linguistic aspects of discourse. Based on this analysis, Norman Fairclough has studied discourse at three levels description, interpretation and explanation. Comparing this method with others, the discourse analysis is to some extent more comprehensive and more efficient. Fairclough analysis method can be incorporated with a qualitative research such as discursive psychology to suggest a quantitative-qualitative research. We have tried to unravel the three given texts based on Fairclough three-level analysis at first, and to describe the elements of the third level and combining it with discursive psychology approach collecting quantitative data on the level of describtion and interpretation. We have utilized discursive psychology theories in order to show that first, how the historical and social context of the production of text influnce on the process of shaping discourses in these three narrative texts? Second, how essentialist identity, constructivism and discourse approaches in narrative text are manifested, and what relationship thye have with social condiations of text production and ideological positions of the author time? Third, from the discursive psychology point of view, how discourse in these three texts associated with social practices is coined and what are ideological functions associated with power relations?
