A Reflection on the Cognitive Factors of Prophetic Mission’s age and Recognition Them in Modern World with an Emphasis on the Teachings of Nahj-ul Balāgha (h)
Prophetic Mission of the great Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) is one of the unique events in the mankind’s history. Some believe that modern era with its marvelous developments has no place for prophetic mission and its messages! The purpose of this paper is to review the cognitive factors of Prophetic mission’s era and recognition them in modern world. This study is a fundamental and analytical research which has been delivered by referring to related sources especially Nahj-ul Balāgha (h). Factors of Prophetic mission’s age could be studied in three domains: cognitive, emotional and behavioral. In this paper only cognitive signs are investigated. The main inquiry is that according to Nahj-ul Balāgha (h), what are the main cognitive factors of Prophetic mission’s era. It seems jāhilīyah (Ignorance) and biithat (Islamic revelation era) are two continuous trends. Detachment of man from divine teachings as a main and basic factor of Prophetic mission’s era in the cognitive domain has dominance over his thoughts and behavior, therefore contemporary man needs the fundamental messages of the Prophetic mission more than before.
