Explaining the Impact of Spatial Experience of Mosques on Mental Restoration(A case study:Goharshad Mosque)

Abstract The architecture of mosques in Iran is one of the most important uses in the history of the psyche restoration, and due to the importance of the spiritual status of these places, pilgrims have been interested in a relaxing atmosphere with the manifestation of mystical beliefs. However, in the current time, in the field of building mosques, attention to the issue of repairing and improving the psyche has been neglected, and this is due to the lack of sufficient knowledge and payment in strategic research. Accordingly, the main purpose of the present study is to analyze the spatial experience of mosques in order to restore the psyche of its audience in line with the need to reproduce the spatial quality of historic mosques in modern mosques. In this regard, the qualitative research approach and the logical reasoning research method have been used in which three experimental, analytical and metaphysical theorems have been proposed for the research strategy in the case study(Goharshad Mosque in Mashhad). Finally, the results indicate that the quality of spatial experience in Goharshad Mosque with the variety of physical elements from the beginning to the end and in each space of this mosque based on the view of tranquility, has improved the recovery of pilgrims. In the analysis of the building, relying on the understanding of mental restoration through spatial experience, presence in the mosque space and inhaling the air along with the pleasant smell of wind and wind in harmony with sensory perceptions of the outside space of the mosque, has shown an indescribable world. In order to improve the understanding of this indescribable world, proportions, forms, materials, moving from earth to sky, both inside and outside, can be understood.
