Study of the relationship between literacy and youth lifestyle(Case study: Hamadan youth aged 18-35)
The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between literacy and lifestyle of Hamadan youth aged 18-35. In this study, descriptive correlational research method was used. The statistical population of this study was young people aged 18-35 in Hamadan city who were selected by cluster sampling and using Cochran formula 379 persons. In this study, two researcher-made questionnaires (Literacy Assessment and Lifestyle Questionnaire) were used to collect the required data. Descriptive and inferential statistics such as mean, percentage, Kalmogrov-Smirnov Test, one-group T-test, Pearson Correlation Test and multivariate regression were used to analyze the questions. The results of single group T-test showed that the literacy rate of the studied age group was 3.26 percent. Also, the results of Pearson correlation test show that there is a positive and significant relationship between literacy and its components with the lifestyle of the studied youth (r = -0.366, p = 0.0001). In other words, the more literacy rate of the target age group increases, the more level of healthiness of the lifestyle increases, but there is a significant inverse relationship between literacy and the type of coverage of the study group, meaning that the more youth literacy is, the more type of antidote coverage will be less. It was also found that all literacy components are capable of predicting youth lifestyle.
