A critique of John Wensbrough's theory based on the formulation of the Qur'an in the third century
One of the important issues in the history of the Qur'an is the issue of collecting and compiling the Holy Qur'an. Many orientalists, based on the narrations that relate the compilation of the complete Qur'an to the time after the death of the Prophet (PBUH), have doubted the authenticity of the text of the present Qur'an and have somehow tried to prove its literal distortion. These doubts can be answered if the complete Mushaf is compiled in the time of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). In this study, the documents of the narrations indicating the compilation of the complete Mus'haf during the time of the Prophet (PBUH) have been evaluated from the rijali point of view by analyzing the documents, and after examining each of the hadiths, it has been proved that most of these narrations have authentic documents or at least reliable, and only a small number of these narrations have a weak document.
