A Comparison between the Early Maladaptive Schemas, Feeling Loneliness and Types of Love in Married Male University Students and Seminary Students in Qom Province

The present study aims at a comparison between the initial maladaptive schemas, feeling loneliness and types of love in married male students of university and seminary schools in Qom province. The study is of descriptive-survey type and the statistical population consisted of 100 seminary students in high levels in al- Hadi school. Similarly, the population included 1645 married male students in Faculty of Humanities in Islamic Azad University of Pardisan. The statistical sample of the study based on the Cochran formula for determining sample size consisted of 80 seminary students and 312 university students. The sampling method was available sampling one. The tool for gathering data included Sternberg's Triangular Love Scale (1994); Russell, Peplau and Cutrona Loneliness Scale (1980); and Young’s Early Maladaptive Schemas Questionnaire (1995). For statistical analysis of the data, the parameters and methods of descriptive and inferential statistics were used. The findings showed that there is a meaningful difference in early maladaptive schemas between married male students in seminary and university; the university students had a higher mean in early maladaptive schemas.
