Evaluation of Two Quarterly Curriculum Studies in Higher Education with a Content Analysis Approach

The aim of this study was to evaluate two quarterly curriculum studies in higher education through a content analysis approach. The size of the population in this study is equal to the sample size. For this purpose, the articles published in the study journal during 10 years (2010 to 2020), including 155 articles which were selected as the corpus of the study. The research method in this study is content analysis. The tools used in this study included a coding checklist whose validity was assessed by several curriculum instructors. Fishing tools were used to collect information and quantitative and qualitative content analysis was used to analyze the data. The results of the research in the methodological section indicate that the qualitative approach is dominant. In the thematic section, topics related to education, teaching and learning in higher education with 19.35 and critical thinking with 0.64 percent, had the highest and lowest frequency, respectively. Among universities and educational institutions, the University of Tehran with 53 authors has the highest frequency among organizational affiliations. Finally, in the section related to authors’ participation in writing articles, the participation of two authors with 30.32% and 5 authors' articles with 6.45% had the highest and lowest frequencies, respectively.
