CDS Strategy-Based Participatory Vision Building in Border Cities (Case Study: Oshnavieh City)
Participatory Visioning Based on City Development Strategy in Border Cities (Case Study: Oshnaveyeh city) Abstract City Development Strategy (CDS) Process with its most prominent feature of participatory future visioning and social capacity-building of sustainable city development, is a modern approach in city planning, poverty reduction, improvement of quality of life and promoting public participation in city management. In this paper, the future visioning process of Oshnaveyeh city was studied and done by descriptive, analytical and field methods. In order to achieve the objectives of this study, field information in the form of a questionnaire was obtained from three statistical communities of city officials, citizens and urban elites. In data analysis were used ANP-SWOT technique and Spss statistical software. The overall average of CDS indixes in Oshnaveyeh is 2.6. The test results show that there is a significant difference between the opinions of different urban groups in terms of CDS indicators. Finally, is selected the strategy of strengthening the performance of agriculture and surrounding areas and the development of conversion industries related to agriculture and animal husbandry, with a score of 0.394, for the future development of the city of Oshnaveyeh, until 1415.
