Relationship between Faith and Companion Concepts from Ibn Taymiyyah’s Viewpoint

This study aimed to explain faith and its semantic domain from Ibn Taymiyyah’s (d. 728/1328) point of view.

One of the findings of the present study was that contrary to the Wahhabis who claim to follow Ibn Taymiyyah, Ibn Taymiyyah’s viewpoint had a lot of affinity with Shiite beliefs on the subject of faith. Proper explanation and promotion of Ibn Taymiyyah’s viewpoint on the subject of faith can provide an important platform for the formation of discourse and interaction with Salafi-takfiri’s fundamental groups.
