Morteza Motahari's Historical Metamorphosis and Its Position in Legitimizing the Islamic Revolution
The purpose of this article is to present a major historical narrative of Morteza Motahhari and to explain its position in legitimizing the political discourse arising from the Islamic Revolution.
In this descriptive-analytical study, the macro narrative of Motahari historiography has been analyzed and its role in political legitimacy and theoretical impact on the theoretical foundations of the Islamic Revolution has been studied.
Motahari's historiographical system derived from Shi'i religious worldview and the Qur'an and hadiths, as the most important source of his historical attitude, has played an unmatched role and subsequently created a vast narrative that has evolved. The movement of history is explained by concepts such as nature, absence, imamate, evolution, spiritual evolution, and such.
This study has shown that Motahhari's historical thinking and his historical insight into legitimizing the Islamic Revolution in Iran have made an ideological and theoretical link and that the political phenomenon of revolution in Motahhari's view is an important component in continuing the process. History has been based on nature and Mahdism.
