Modeling the Impact of Organizational Virtue on Psychological Empowerment of Faculty Members by the Mediating Role of Subjective Well-Being: A Case Study of Mazandaran Province Universities
The present study aimed to determine the impact of organizational virtue on psychological empowerment by the mediating role of subjective well-being of faculty members of universities in Mazandaran Province and to develop a model of this impact. This was an applied descriptive survey involving structural equation modeling. Statistical population consisted of all faculty members (n= 2940) of universities in Mazandaran Province. Sample size was calculated to be 334 using Cochran's formula. Stratified random sampling was used to select the participants. Data collection was done using a researcher-made questionnaire of organizational virtue, Spritzer's Psychological empowerment scale, and subjective well-being scale (SWS) of Keyes and Magyar-Moe. Collected data were analyzed by SPSS and AMOS. Path analysis and Bootstrapping were used to test the hypotheses. The findings showed positive and significant relationships of organizational virtue with psychological empowerment, organizational virtue with subjective well-being, and subjective well-being with psychological empowerment. Subjective well-being also acted as a mediator between organizational virtue and psychological empowerment.
